Abstract

The Check Dam Koto Tuo is located in the Batang Air Dingin area in the Koto Tangah Sub – District ang has an area of 12477.3 Ha of river floe with a length of the main river which is 26089.7 Ha or 26.1 km. Due to the high intensity of rain in West Sumatra, the flow rate in Batang Air Dingin is large enough so that frequent flooding,erosion and sedimentation have slowly affected in the infrastructure in area. Therefore, it is very necessary to conduct a review of the Dam in the Batang Air Dingin waterhed so that there is no sedimentation. The purpose of this study is to determine the amount oferosion ratr, sedimentation rate the amount of potensial sedimentationat the Koto Tuo check Dam. This research methode uses the USLE (Unuversal Soil Losses Equation) method from the calculations that have been carried out and it was found that the amountof erosion at The Koto Tuo Check Dam per Day is 0.003312 Ton/Ha/Thn and per years is 4.133 Ton/Ha/Thn and potensial sedimentationthat occurs at Check Dam Koto Tuo is 79.952 Ton/Ha/Thn.
