Abstract
The purpose of this study, namely to find the correlation between vocabulary mastery and speaking skills in eleventh grade of SMKN 9 Padang; and to see the direction of the correlation between vocabulary mastery and speaking skills the correlation between vocabulary mastery and speaking skills in eleventh grade of SMKN 9 Padang. This study uses a type of quantitative method. Sampling in the study using a purposive sampling technique. This study was analyzed by IBM SPSS ver. 24 using the Pearson product-moment formula. The results of this study found the correlation between vocabulary mastery and speaking skills in eleventh grade students of SMKN 9 Padang with a coefficient of rxy of 0.951 with a sign. 0.000 (p<0.005). This shows that the correlation between vocabulary mastery and speaking skills is significant and very strong. The direction of the correlation between vocabulary mastery and speaking skills is a positive direction. Keyword: vocabulary mastery, speaking skills.
