Abstract

This research is pre-experimental research with a group pre-test and post-test design consisting of four meetings. This research aims to find out whether the use of Quizizz can improve reading comprehension, especially in reading Procedure Texts in class XI SMK Semen Padang or not. Researchers only took one class as a sample. The sample consisted of 17 students of class XI Industrial Electronics Engineering. The results of this research were that there was an increase in the average student score from the post-test which was (87,94), greater than the average pre-test score (46.18). From the t-test, the calculated t value was (7,87). Based on degrees of freedom (df) 15, the t table value at the 0.05 significance level for the two-sided test is 2,131. Because the calculated t value (7,87) is greater than the t table (2,131), the null hypothesis (H₀) is rejected, so that (H₁) is accepted, which means there are significant differences between the groups tested. It can be concluded that the use of Quizizz significantly improves students' reading abilities.
