Abstract
Reading is an extremely important activity for oneself both for academic and nonacademic purposes. This study aims to examine how the Story Face Strategy enhances students' reading comprehension of narrative texts in the eighth grade of SMP PGRI 4 Padang. This research employed a quantitative approach with a preexperimental design, using a one-group pre-test and post-test. Data were collected through a reading comprehension test consisting of 25 multiple-choice questions administered before and after the strategy implementation. The results indicated a significant enhancement in students' reading comprehension scores after applying this strategy. The students' mean score increased from 53.5 in the pre-test to 76.9 in the post-test. Statistical analysis using a paired sample t-test confirmed that the enhancement was significant at a 0.05 confidence level. These findings suggest that the Story Face Strategy helps students identify key elements in narrative texts, such as the main idea, characters, setting, problems, and vocabulary. Therefore, this strategy can be considered an effective method for enhancing students' reading comprehension.
