Abstract

The selection process for electing candidates for Wali Nagari or at the level of Village Head is one part of the current democratic system. The selection for determining the Nagari mayor candidates comes from the provisions made by the General Election Commission (KPU) and is carried out by the Voting Organizing Group (KPPS). The problem that often occurs during candidate selection is that many candidates and supporters blame the performance of the KPPS, which can cause a crisis of confidence. Based on this, this research aims to identify selection patterns for determining Nagari guardian candidates using the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) Perceptron algorithm. The Perceptron algorithm can identify patterns, rules, and conditions using predetermined variables. The process of determining the value used for this variable will later play the role of fuzzy logic to provide the correct value based on previously obtained data. The results of ANN testing using the perceptron algorithm in the training and testing process have been able to produce precise and accurate output. These results can be used as a pattern in selecting candidates for Nagari guardians and can also be used as the basis for a knowledge-based system. Based on these results, this research will contribute to helping the performance of KPPS in carrying out selection in determining candidates in the election
