Abstract

The research was aimed to find the difficulties in teaching listening using audio-visual at SMAN 3 Padang Panjang. The subject of this research consists of 2 techers who teach listening using audio-visual at SMAN 3 Padang Panjang. The objectives of the study were (1) To find the difficulties faced by teachers when teach listening used audio-visual at SMAN 3 Padang Panjang. (2) To find out the problems caused the difficulties faced by techer when teach listening used audio-visual at SMAN 3 Padang Panjang. This research used qualitative approach with descriptive approach. The problems Were collected, identified, and classified based on inteviewed and observation The result showed the dificulties faced by the teachers when taugh listening using audio-visual. The second was the problems caused the difficulties faced by teachers used audio-visual in teaching listening. The errors occurred because the students were mostly confused about the material given and they did not study well and lack of focus by students mostly caused the difficulties in teaching listening using audio-visual.
