Abstract

In the implementation of revitalization at Pulau Air Station, it includes upgrading the used rails, namely previously using the R33 rail type with steel bearings, it has been replaced by using the R54 rail type with prestressed concrete bearings. This study aims to determine the exclusion condition and after the revitalization of the railroad, to determine the bearing strength, as well as the feasibility of carrying out the revitalization activities on the Pulau Air Station line. This research uses descriptive quantitative method. Where quantitative research is a process of finding knowledge using data in the form of numbers as a tool to analyze information about what you want to know, and using descriptive research to present a phenomenon under study. The result of this research is that the calculation shows that the R54 rail type can be used for class 1 road construction with an axle load of 18 tons where the stress is less than the allowable stress. Meanwhile, prestressed concrete (K�500 quality) can be used, because the ability of the prestressed bearing concrete to withstand the rail load (Qb) is greater than the distributed load of the rail (Q1). Based on the analysis of bearing strength calculations and analysis of bearing loading, it can be concluded that the increase in railroad construction in the form of revitalization activities on the Pulau Air route is suitable for use by KRDE type trains.
