Abstract

SMA 1 Sungai Rumbai is a secondary education institution that still manages student grade data manually using books and simple spreadsheet applications. This method has many weaknesses, such as being prone to input errors, data loss, slow recapitulation processes, and limited data access by relevant parties such as homeroom teachers and principals. Based on these problems, this study aims to design and build an integrated web-based student grade data processing information system that can be accessed online by relevant parties. The research methods used include field studies, interviews, observations, and documentation to obtain system requirements data. The system development process was carried out using the Waterfall Model approach, starting from needs analysis, system design using the Unified Modeling Language (UML), implementation using the PHP programming language and MySQL database, and testing using the black-box testing method. The main features of this system include student data management, grade input by subject teachers, automatic grade recapitulation based on semester and academic year, and printing grade reports in PDF format. This system also provides different access for admins, teachers, and homeroom teachers to maintain data security and confidentiality. Implementation results show that the system can process and display grade data more quickly, accurately, and efficiently than manual methods. Therefore, this information system is expected to improve the quality of academic administration services at SMA 1 Sungai Rumbai and be the first step towards a better digitalization of the education system.
